Our Services

Our staff of trained professionals is experienced in providing top-notch care to competitive athletes, weekend warriors, and the general public alike. Our goal is to return you to your sport or activities of daily living fitter and stronger than before you were injured by using a combination of the following methods.

Rehabilitation and exercise instruction

Restoring your life back to normal following an injury, surgery, or a painful condition requires a thorough examination, accurate diagnosis, comprehensive treatment plan, and specific rehabilitative exercise program.

Correcting any major muscle imbalances before beginning a higher intensity exercise program is vital for success. Muscle imbalances produce faulty movement patterns and prevent your joints from aligning and functioning properly. This can put you at greater risk for injury, chronic muscle pain, and joint pain.

At Champion Performance Chiropractic Rehab, we develop goal-driven rehabilitation programs providing extensive patient education on proper biomechanics for efficient movement. We also provide individualized training programs for all levels of sport to maximize potential and reduce the risk of injury. Simply put, we teach you how to exercise efficiently to get real results:

  • Improve strength
  • Improve endurance
  • Improve flexibility
  • Improve balance
  • Improve functional capacity

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

Chiropractors practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors are like other healthcare providers—with the most skilled able to utilize a variety of methods in response to people’s healthcare issues. At Champion Performance Chiropractic Rehab we use an array of chiropractic techniques and supplementary modalities to treat pain and injury. We also accommodate those who prefer gentler non-force chiropractic manipulation.

Active Release Technique (ART)

Dr. James Gucciardi ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.

These treatment protocols – over 500 specific moves – are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART is not a cookie-cutter approach.

Kinesio Taping

Dr. James Gucciardi

Kinesio Taping is an innovative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. The tape is wrapped over and around your muscles to assist them, provide them with support, or to prevent them from over-contracting.

Kinesio Tape is used to:

  • Re-educate the neuromuscular system
  • Reduce pain
  • Enhance performance
  • Prevent re-injury
  • Promote improved circulation and healing

Kinesio Taping can also be used to complement other types of treatment – like sports rehabilitation, Active Release Technique, and massage therapy.

Massage Therapy

Chiropractic treatment and massage therapy go hand-in-hand. Clinical massage therapy is a highly specialized health care modality that focuses on the evaluation and treatment of soft tissue dysfunction through manual manipulation. By utilizing direct pressure, slow strokes or friction applied across the grain of the muscles, clinical massage therapy works deeply into the muscles and connective tissue to help ease muscle spasm, tension, pain, and improve physical function.

Some of the benefits of massage therapy include:

  • Promotion of the healing process
  • Relief of pain naturally
  • Improvement in circulation
  • Improved joint and muscle function

Here at Champion Performance Chiropractic Rehab we use a variety of massage therapy techniques to address any soft tissue problems.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a one-on-one hands-on approach to the evaluation and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Manual therapy is based on the assessment and treatment of:

  • Joint alignment and mobility
  • Muscle length, texture, tension, and movement
  • Functional movement patterns

The goal of manual therapy is to restore the affected tissues to normal function and is combined with therapeutic exercises when appropriate to encourage:

  • Efficient pain-free joint motion
  • Improved muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility
  • Coordinated movement patterns with activities associated with daily living, sports, and work.

To maximize the benefit of manual therapy a customized goal-driven therapeutic exercise program is incorporated into the treatment plan. We also develop and teach a custom home exercise program when appropriate to reinforce treatment provided at the office. Home exercise programs allow patients to transition from being dependent on care to being actively involved in self-managing their condition.
